Lagoon Systems: Plenty of Life Left by Nexom
Many communities with lagoon-based systems were not properly designed for nitrification or other advanced limits. Therefore, operators and their consultants need to know what proven solutions work in beating ever more challenging limits. This presentation covers why lagoons fail, particularly with winter nitrification—and the validity of both nitrification and phosphorus options. Studying various project case studies, the presentation offers design considerations for available upgrades to existing lagoons and some unique systems’ upgrades.
